Peacekeepers' Day Service

Description: Royal Canadian Legions across Canada hosted special parades, remembrance services and receptions to remember, honour & pay tribute to those men and women who have given their lives for peacekeeping efforts, whether it was during military activities abroad or policing efforts within our own community, as well as to remind everyone that we continue to have Canadians working around the world today in support of international peacekeeping & security operations. The event for Greater Moncton was organized and held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. #6, with dignitaries in attendance representing the Government of Canada, the Province of NB and Moncton, Riverview & Dieppe. The event began with a parade of flags & service veterans, followed by a formal service of speeches, laying of commemorative wreaths & crosses, and finished with a reception, where guests were able to reminisce & share stories over a luncheon spread, kindly prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary.
