OpporTUNEity Knocks

Description: OpporTUNEity Knocks was a 'Got Talent' style contest that showcased local talent and also raised funds and awareness for the Greater Moncton Down Syndrome Society (GMDSS). Singers, dancers, a magician and more performed for the audience and a panel of judges, hoping to win the $2,000 grand prize. Audience members could cast votes for their favourite act, with ballots costing $1.00 each. The Greater Moncton Down Syndrome Society is a charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting persons diagnosed with Down Syndrome and their families and focuses its main efforts on raising public awareness and fostering an understanding of Down Syndrome. In addition to the creation of a support network for families, the GMDSS also provides resources for the community, hosts social events and information workshops and also conducts a variety of fundraising efforts throughout the year.
