MetroTones Honour Vets

Description: To celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday, the popular pop chorus, the MetroTones, honoured Veterans who have served our country during their recent concert held at the Wesleyan Celebration Centre before an almost sold-out crowd. The performance, which began with the 80 member group being marched on stage with Veterans behind Bagpipers and a Colour Guard, included a number of Vera Lyn war songs that the audience sang along to, as well as classics such as Amazing Grace, In Flanders Fields and Tipperary. Once again, the MetroTones generously donated concert proceeds to non-profit organizations, as follows: $6,000 to the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. #6; a $1,000 Music Scholarship to Moncton High student Breanne Henderson, and 3,300 pounds of non-perishable food items was collected for Food Depot Alimentaire, thanks to the kindness of ticket holders.
